    Winged Toolbar Problem Report

I'm having a little problem with the toolbar.  It appears the sort mode is defaulted to "First, Last".  I have tried changing it to "Last,First" but it won't stay that way.  Each new window that opens or even after I shut down and log back on in the morning it has switched back to "First,Last" sort mode.  Can you fix that?

I'm also finding it a little inconvenient that when I want to search I not only have to select the bird name but also have to go over to Birds of North America to get it to search.  can you take that step out?

    Re: Winged Toolbar ??

    Hi Kay

Your right it doesnt remember the sort mode after you use it once. I'll see if we can make that so if you select Last, First it remembers it until its changed again.

The second question I am not sure I follow. Once you select a bird name all you need to do to open its page is press the Enter key or click on the bird name in the menu. So there is second step to open a bird page. But maybe I dont follow you.

    Re: Winged Toolbar ??

No, I think you understood me and maybe it was just my slow computer but it didn't seem to do anything when I simply clicked on the selected bird name so I tried clicking on the "Birds of North America" box.  Since it was there I thought maybe I needed to click it. But if we don't need it why is it there? (the "Birds of North America" box).

    Re: Winged Toolbar ??

The Birds of North America is the database selector menu. Additional databases will appear there eventually. But I see how you were confused. That should be a menu not a combo box and the tooltip could say more.

Regarding the responsiveness, I do believe that is more dependent on the speed of your computer, and its very possible in Windows that you can get a low memory condition where IE just slows way down. If you continue to see issues with toolbar responsivity please let me know the details of your rig like processor speed, memory size, etc.

    Thanks for the great feedback.

    Re: Winged Toolbar Problem Report

I had a different problem when downloading the winged toolbar.  at first it download fine, and I could search on it, but then when I closed internet explorer and tried to reopen it, explorer would not open.  I had to uninstall firefox and the toolbar to open explorer.  would I have to switch entirely to firefox to use the toolbar.  I have a lot of stuff organized in my favorites in explorer.

    Re: Winged Toolbar Problem Report

problem solved, the first time I must have accidently chosen firefox.  this time I chose internet explorer and hit "run" instead of "save"  I havent had any problems opening explorer now. I emailed a bird forum about this tool and the only problem encountered so far was that their navigation bar was hidden and had to be chosen in settings.
