    Here's another shot of the bird I need help identifying.  I'm in St. Louis, Missouri.  I have one picture in a post called "Backyard Bird" but could not see how to post another picture, so here it is in this post.  DLGibbons

    Welcome to Whatbird. I'm no expert but looks like an immature Summer Tanager to me.

    After I posted my messages, my wife suggested I send a message to the St. Louis Audubon Society.  I emailed the pictures to the St. Louis Audubon Society asking for information.  As several of you suggested, they confirmed the bird was a "first year male summer tanager."  The representative of the St. Louis Audubon Society reported the males take the whole first year to turn all the way to the traditional red color.  Thanks to all of you for helping pin down this interesting bird.  It's my first summer tanager!  Happy Birding!  DLGibbons
