Hummingbird flew in my window - please advise

    Hi,

Would anyone know what I should do? I put the little bird on a paper towel in a box, but it has been an hour and a half and it is not recovered and still "shivering". I live in Panama and there are no wildlife experts nearby, so I would appreciate any feedback on what is best for the bird - even if it means I should help it get to the "next" world.

    Sylvie,

Did the hummingbird make it?   I hope it was OK.  I did find a site that has some instructions on caring for them.

    Project Wildlife   http://www.projectwildlife.org/find-hummingbirds.htm

Also Hummingbirds.net may have some helpful info.  http://www.hummingbirds.net/about.html#injured

    Let us know what happens.

    Good Luck,

    Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

I appreciate your answer very much. Unfortunately the hummingbird did not make it. It looked a bit smaller than the average hummingbirds we get on our feeder (which is placed on the other side of our house, away from windows) so it might have been a young one as well. It had a little crack on it's beak, so it's chances of survival after recovery might have been low anyway. It is still very sad as it is a precious, wonderful creature.

    Thanks again for your reply.
