Help identifying egg shells found in yard

I recently discovered two chicken sized robin's blue eggs in my yard - appear to have tumbled from surrounding trees - no nest. I live @ 1/8 mile from LI Sound in NY and my yard is fairly wooded and the area is somewhat rural. Are these some type of waterfowl eggs?

If it was surrounded by trees then must likely its not a type of waterfowl (unless they are Wood Duck eggs). Although It might be Grackle or Starling eggs though. Is there any way you could get a picture?

Wood Duck eggs aren't usually blue, but I'm not sure about grackles, etc. Most likely not a waterfowl...

What birds have you seen in that area before?

Most herons, egrets and ibises lay blue-green eggs, but they might be too big.

Blue jay eggs sound similar to yours.

Earlier in the season, we had night herons build a nest in a tree in the yard, but abandoned it.....this is why I thought it might be heron eggs. The eggs are the size of chicken eggs and light blue in color - I think too large to be grackle, although there are grackles in abundance in the area.

I agree, the eggs are too large for a grackle.
