what kind of bird is this

We have a bird that visits our bird feeder in Indiana.  The bird does not have a mate, and it doesn't eat out of the feeder.  The bird has a black head, orange beak, nothing around the eyes, grey slender body, black tips on end of wings, light orange breast.  Under his throat it looks like white and brown stripe.  What in the heck is it.  Thanks for helping us.    Pegz

Sounds like it could be a female Robin.  Here's a picture from google images:

Sounds like an American Robin.  I don't think too many Orioles feed on the ground..... but I have been knwo to be quite wrong before.

Re: what kind of bird is this

IT IS NOT A ROBIN. THE HEAD IS TO BLACK, AND THE BODY TO SLENDER AND GREY. THE BREAST A LIGHT ORANGE. THE WINGS HAVE BLACK TIPS.  IT IS A MOST UNUSUAL BIRD.  IT DOES NOT EAT OUT OF BIRD FEEDER ,  MY MOTHER IS TAKING PICS. THANKS PEGGY  MY MOM THINKS IT IS A BLACK CAP.  HUMMM WE DON'T KNOW.
