    Calliope and rufus hummingbirds??

I think this is a calliope and a rufus hummingbird at one of my feeders.

This is a Calliope. The other hummingbird is not visible.

The one on the left is a male Calliope.  The one on the right could be either Rufous or Allen's as they are virtually identical. If you're in California or southern Oregon it's likely Allen's; if you are further north it's likely Rufous. Where are you?

Rufous then, apparently already migrating southward as you are in its migration path but nowhere near it's nesting range (or in Allen's either for that matter). Interesting; I didn't know they did that this early.

I agree rufous and calliope. If only this were MY hummer feeder!
