About Karen
It all started when my husband bought me a birthday/Christmas present in December, 2007. I received my first digital SLR camera (coming from a 5-year-old Kodak Sureshot). I was afraid to take it out of the box because there were soooo many settings. I read the book that came with it, then I was REALLY scared. I had been taking bird pictures with the Kodak camera, but nothing compares to my Nikon DX40. I started going online looking for places to go birding since I know I will never see a warbler at my bird feeders. Since I live just above the Ohio border, I started visiting Oak Openings, Toledo Airport, the State Park, Metzger Marsh, Ottowa National Wildlife Refuge, and my favorite place - Magee Marsh! I started going there in the Fall of 2008 and saw my first warblers and now I'm hooked.
I gotta tally up my bird count! birdloving Karen
