About Julianne's Gallery
I created this gallery to share some of my bird photographs. I hope that many will be useful for identification purposes. But some are recording interesting behavior, some are just funny, and others were taken for the artistic effect.
Many of the photos were taken with an Olympus "point and shoot" camera. The older ones with a C-720 (2.1 megapixel), and the newer ones with a C-756 Ultra-Zoom (4.0 megapixel). Both cameras have a 10x optical zoom lens, and I sometimes add a 1.7x teleconverter.
Recently I started using a Panasonic FX-30 for action shots, because it responds quicker than the Olympus. It has 12x optical zoom and 8 megapixels. I often use only 3mp, which precrops the photos, giving the effect of an extended optical zoom, and reducing the size of the files.
