I saw this majestic bird on an 'Eagle Boat Cruise' on the Connecticut River in Essex, Connecticut in the middle of February. The Connecticut River has (if I remember correctly) 2 resident, breeding pairs...on top of the visitors. It wasn't determined which one this was.
