Hi,
This bird appeared in our driveway 3 days ago and hasn't left. It's not shy at all. It digs in the mud with it's long beak and walks like a chicken/turkey in a way. Meaning it will step and then move it's chest back and forth once or twice, step and repeat. I tried to find it on the internet and the closest I could come to is the Long Billed Dowitcher.
We live in NW lower MI near the Lake Michigan coastline. I understand the Dowitcher is not native to this area..so I'm really at a loss.
Can anyone help?
Beth
