OLYMPIC PENINSULA JULY 2007
Most of the birds at sea were shot at great distance and many of those photos are not of the best quality. The birds were simply too far away. But I was delighted nonetheless to record about a dozen birds I had never seen.
I highly recommend a visit to the Neah Bay / Cape Flattery area at the extreme Northwestern tip of the Olympic Peninsula. The views are breathtaking, great oportunities to spot Paciific Northwestern birds from the shore, and the Macah people are very friendly and hospitable.
Thanks also to Bob at the Dungeness River Audobon Center in Sequim, for help in identifying and finding birds, and for letting me shoot near his feeders.
