I agree with Natureboy's ID's.
TheGrine - does it really matter? The poster me be just starting out and wants to confirm everything. I know I would have loved to have known about this forum when I first started. I had tons of guides but it doesn't matter how many guides one has, it's the experience that really makes the difference.

Corbett:That has to be only type of flock where a white pelican would be the small bird.
You got that right! It is kind of funny seeing the American White Pelican next to the Whooping Cranes.

I'm pretty sure it isn't a Saffron Finch, I've seen (introduced) Saffron Finches in Ecuador and they didn't look like that. My area of expertise is not domesticated birds, so I can't help much here.

I agree with all of those. I love the Swamp Sparrows bright rufous wings (especially noticeable on the secondaries in your photo).

I second Greater Scaup. With that perfectly round head it's hard to mistake it.

Yes, the second one is also a Yellow-rumped.
-
Yes, the birds on the tube feeders are Chipping Sparrows.

You are correct with both the Black Turnstone and Surfbird.

I think the ''wingbars'' are actually just pine needles sticking out. I'm pretty sure it's a nonbreeding male Scarlet Tanager. First of all on a female Western I've never seen that much contrast between the wing and the body, and second of all Westerns don't make it down to Colombia for the winter (but Scarlets do).
