RJP:In Indiana, West Lafayette is in Carolina Chickadee territory. The boundary in that part of the state is approximately Route 24. You can get Black-capped a ways south of there, but usually the Lafayette area is quite solidly Carolina.

Yeah, I can see the white eyeline now. Figured it was a Carolina, as I usually have several around, but only see a house wren once or twice a year.
Can anyone else confirm the other two photos? I'm a little anal about IDs...

Pretty sure I know these, but just wanted to double check. All taken this week in central Indiana:
Juvenile white-crowned sparrow? Winter female American goldfinch?
Carolina wren? (Never had the proper angle to see if there was an eyeline, but the breast color is more Carolina then house, right?) ...

lyceel: My only wild shots are still from about a hundred yards away or more.
Definitely know that feeling, and I've seen a ton of them. Too bad I had my old crappy camera for most of them.
See how many bald eagles are in this shot -- you can tell it's an eagle by the ''cue ball'' head on the dark body:

Anyone have any other thoughts on the flycatchers? Should I just label it as an empid? Seems like the photos are good enough, are flycatchers just that similar?
Also, for the two orioles (which I am terrible with), is there a concensus on male/female/first-year?
