I think Red-shouldered is more likely, due to the white speckling on its wings and back and rufous barring on its breast.

Curlybird:''Nobody will recognize me in these sunglasses - what do you think, Charlie?''
Good one, Curlybird. I can see you're going to get a lot of mileage out of your Cedar Waxwings!!

greypaper:Maybe they just taste awful.
Actually, they're pretty darn good when fried and served with bisquit and gravy!!
I agree that they are usually docile birds and that they appear to be one of the stupidest birds around. However, I've seen a few bossy ones that will run other doves and even the Sparrows and Finches off the platform ...

Good story, Curlybird. A happy ending, as I'm sure she got lots of attention. Being raised by you I'm sure she was friendly with people and got fed a lot. Just curious... did she recognize you when you saw her at the park?

Curlybird:
I'm in So CA, and I have the opposite - tons of birds at my feeder and everywhere else! This is my first fall/winter into birding (I started in Feb), so I love seeing all the new birds! There's just one in particular that I really want to see...................I won't mention the species as I've already bored everyone ...
