Way cool....that first photo!!!
Aren't they fun to watch ....all their antics and behaviors. Maybe the two in the nest were taking notes on how to be Osprey free from the ''womb'' (nest) by watching the first one venture out and try things out.

I am seeing a female mallard....not a hybrid and not a molting male. I was feeding american black ducks today side by side with mallards today and they are distinct in appearance from one another though they do cross breed. When I have seen a male molting mallard he looks more like the female but has had a ''rougher'' appearance with ...

I have seen various ....but will mention seeing (and hearing) a juvenile crow. I do not remember ever noticing any before. I love it 'cause I have learned to follow the ''baby cry'' and low quivering, flapping wings.
I have learned to take note of ''young bird voices'' 'cause this is one more cue telling me that is a ''child''. At first glance ...

Hey Chris....
No wonder why I was quietly connecting to your posts. These are wonderful experiences and they do have an amazing affect on us ..critters included.
Vultures shared your lunch...wow, I never heard of that. If I saw you doing that at a picnic table I probably would have tried to find a way to sidle up to the ''party''. Imagine ...
