Thanks everyone. We were leaning towards Oriole, but there was a some hope that it could be a tanager (since that would be the first time one showed up here!).

here's a pic of it next to what I thought was a House Finch (maybe I was wrong on that, so that could be what's throwing me off??)

Can someone tell me what bird this is? Not sure if it's a juvenile sparrow of some kind? It showed up at the feeder on the weekend. It's bigger than the house finches that were nearby. We live in Oakville, Ontario. Thank you!

We've noticed the colouring on this bird and wondering if it's a Baltimore Oriole? Could it be a Western Tanager? We live in Oakville, Ontario. Thank you for any advice/input.

We're in Oakville, just on the Milton/Oakville border. Unfortunately we didn't see him again.

It was definitely a dull yellow on the chin and chest. It was too far away and too quick a look to notice too many more details, however, so I can't answer your other questions unfortunately...

This bird was spotted yesterday at the top of a dead tree along a creek in a fairly wooded part of southern Ontario.
