• Re: Winged Explorer Has Been Discontinued

Will the updater remain active for some period of time? I may need to do a re-install if the developer of my custom ROM fixes the SQLCE issue on my primary phone, and I would want to then update to the current release and database (or would the updater have left those files somewhere on my computer and is there a way to do the update ...

goofy166: Why dont you get an iPod Touch - $229 at best buy - I'll give you a free copy of iBird for it and you will be really happy I promise. That might be the way to go. I just wish they had the Touch with a hard drive or more memory. If I am going to get another iPod (I have a Nano) I would like it to carry ...

I must say I am very disappointed, but I understand your position. Because Windows Mobile is available for so many different devices, there are numerous hardware differences that must be accounted for (screen resolution, even screen shape, number of buttons, different sound drivers, etc... Unfortunatly for me, the iPhone is severely ...

  • Re: samsung i760?

Runs great on the i760. Only issue is that the i760 sometimes temporarily loses sight of the SD card when it goes to sleep, so you may need to restart Winged Explorer when you wake the phone back up. Alan

  • Re: Problem with update feature

wolf21m:I am running Windows XP and am using an HP ipaq. I am running the released version of Winged Explorer (1.0.0903) and updater version (1.11.0724). The auto update feature tells me that there is a database update and a program update. When I click next, I receive the following error: ''There was an error transferring the file: A connection ...

  • Re: Problem running Winged Explorer

Mitchell, This is the same problem I told you about last weekend when installing on my custom ROM WM6.1 Touch. I will be home from my business trip in a few hours and I am hoping to find time this weekend to upgrade the spare Touch to 6.1 and see if the problem is duplicated (if so, I will try a couple of different ROMS to verify ...

  • Great ID experience.

I have a friend who is starting to get interested in bird watching. He has a wonderful memory, and is really good at describing what he has seen. Last night, we were out to dinner, and he started asking us about a bird he had seen the previous evening. My wife and I were scratching our heads, because he was describing ...

  • Re: Filter on date (season)

Mitchell Waite:Have you ever run across a site that divides bird location with granularity like by location or season? I have seen a few books that do, but the numbers are all relative. I have not seen a good single source. Just figured the range map data must come from somewhere. I have a booklet for Maryland birds that ...

  • Re: Filter on date (season)

Mitchell Waite:Yes you are totally correct, but adding such a feature is a very difficult thing to do. You would have to narrow your location down by not just state but more exacting details such as zip code, then we would need to enter the month. The hard part is obtaining the date/location information, there are very few web sites that offer ...
