The large terminal band says Coopers to me.

Yes, Eurasian Collared Dove. I know they have a lot of them in Yuma, AZ - I saw several there a few years ago. These birds are rapidly expanding their range and I don't think any field guide shows their current range.

what: Eastern Bluebird (female)
why: blue coloring on back, reddish upper breast and white lower breast, wide-eyed thrushy look

CTcrystal:the Yellow-headed Blackbird is listed on the Official Checklist of Birds in Virginia.
So is the Passenger Pigeon

The first bird is a Northern Cardinal. Sometimes they lose all the feathers on their head temporarily. The second bird looks like a Eurasian Collared Dove.

Starling - but I had to look several times.

When I first looked at the picture, all I saw was the catbird. When I read your response, I was thinking ''Orchard Oriole?? What has PoorMatty been smoking?'' LOL! Then I read the original post and saw the ''not the Catbird...'' text. D'OH!
Yes, it is an Orchard Oriole.

I'd go with Red-shouldered Hawk. The wings don't look long enough for an eagle - this appears more Buteo-ish. Also, the tail shows consistent narrow banding - not a thick terminal band like you would see on a Golden Eagle.

It's a Red-tailed Hawk. You don't always get a good look at the cinnamon tail coloring like in this pic, but RTHs will almost always show that dark band across the chest and it is pretty diagnostic (about the only consistent field mark available to birders like me that are still struggling with Buteos).
