Whatbird.com

I had hoped it was a Ruby because that would be a lifebird for me, and I almost id it as that, but could not fully identify the crown although it fit closer to that than the female goldfinch. Here is another look let me know if you think it excludes the ruby.

I am thinking this is possibly a young female goldfinch, but would appreciate any input.  The picture was taken yesterday in western Idaho nears some ponds down by a river.  The size is about 3 inches tall.

I posted this once before but this is a perfect place for it.  This Magpie lost a tail somewhere.  I believe it was the mom to six that hatched this last spring.  Look pretty funny.

Sorry about the picture I chased this one for a while trying to get a better shot.  This was taken today in western Idaho.  I first thought it was another Bullock's Oriole.  When I looked closer at the head it looks all black.  So I looked for birds similar to it and only could come up wiht a Baltimore Oriole and I am way out ...
