This bird used to hang out in a shrub that was next to where I parked. It wasn't that uncommon for me to find it inside my truck when I left the windows down. (I have no idea why) This particular day I happened to have my camera in hand and the driver's side window was up so it couldn't beat a quick retreat. Busted!

I should have said 2' or 3' long, not tall. I hope someone else weighs in because there are lots of experts on here that will know for sure.
I had a gull land on the bow of my canoe one time and stay for an hour or so - free transportation I guess.

I don't know Comorants very well. If it was about 3' tall it was probably a Brandt's - if was 2' tall, it was probably a Pelagic.
Were you out in the middle of nowhere and it got tired of flying or something?

Flying over south central Kansas a couple of days ago.

I have more birds than usual today; probably double the number from a few days ago. Our first snow storm of the year just hit - I'm sure this has something to do with it.
