Maybe I am just warped, but it alway gives me hope to see photos that ''aren't quite right'' from excellent photographers like Lyceel and Matt. Thanks for sharing those guys-and I for one, share your pain!!

The young caracaras were indeed taken at Viera. In fact, Mom and Dad were on the far side (in their usual tree in the pasture field) and they were on the entrance side, about 100 yards before the exit on the outside of the wetlands. I have not seen Mom and Dad on recent trips, but the young-ins are still hanging pretty close. Wonder if ...

OK, you guys all know I don't weigh in on ID's too often, but here goes...
The OP says the pic was taken in April - is it possible that this is a baby? The fluffy-ness seems to suggest this to me. With that in mind, I also see ''streaking'' rather than ''banding''...am I way way off??
