Seen yesterday near Seattle. Seems to have the gray sides and white face of a Clark's, but the bill isn't as bright as I would like.

Yeah, your right, Horned Grebe The picture was a little deceiving. This one is slightly better. You can tell the bill is thin and the chest is light colored.

Here's a little grebe-ish bird I saw in the Puget Sound today near Seattle. It doesn't really match anything in my Sibley's.

I thought I was watching a yellow warbler, but when I got to looking at the pictures, it has an orange beak. So I thought Goldfinch, but it has black legs. So now I'm thinking Western Tanager.

Well, we have gagillions of Glaucous-winged here, and this one doesn't really look right. It doesn't help that it seems to be somwhere in the Juvenile plumage. I'm no expert, but it looks a little more like a Glaucous Gull to me. Very white wingtips and flat forehead. And I don't think the Glaucous-winged ever get that ...
