It's probably just ''their time'' to disappear for a while. That has been happening me with BHCs, grackles and RWBs. The cowbirds have already returned with a vengeance (dozens at a time filling up my tray feeder, fly-thru feeder, tube feeder and the ground below them). I'd vote for the starling ; head does not look right to me to be a juv RWB and the pried-open mouth searching the grass is classic starling behavior

If it was a turkey vulture, you'd have noticed the different coloring on the wings.
How about a black vulture ? I know you said no other color, but could just the tips at the end of the wings been lighter and you'd not notice ?
