I'm glad you guys decided to put in the effort. It's a very useful feature. One thing I think would be great for a future update would be if you could tap on the family name in that page and bring up the list of birds in that family from the ''browse'' tab. Just something to consider. Thanks again.

It sounds like the last update may have improved this, at least to a degree:http://www.whatbird.com/forums/forums/thread/114318.aspx
Also, just FYI, the developers are working on a way to allow in-app upgrades, so you could get Pro at a discount for having the other version: http://www.whatbird.com/forums/forums/thread/87022.aspx

Thanks for the fantastic update. The notes function is very nice, but the Family pages are the real winner for me. It's funny, when I read about the notes feature in the update details, I thought to my self ''cool, I can manually enter some taxonomic and conservation info in there''. You can imagine my delight when I read on, and found out about ...

I would also be interested to know how the new version of iBird that will allow upgrades is coming along. I have iBird North, and I love it, but I really want to get my hands on iBird Pro. Thanks.

No problem. I'm glad we could help you figure that out. I will still download 15 even though I already have iBird NE, so I can write a nice review.

I just read the Times story that I picked up from iBird's tweet, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/31/business/31digi.html?_r=2
Great stuff. I don't have TV, so I did not know about the add. I just found iBird while searching for any available field guides, and what a find it is! Quality apps like these deserve to be put in the spotlight. Also, that ...

goofy166:If you update your 1st generation iPod Touch to OS 2.2 iBird will work on it just fine.
I just wanted to mention that I have OS 2.21 on my 1st gen. iPod Touch and when I tried to download iBird 15, I got a popup telling me that the app is only available for iPhones (I have gotten the same message for apps that are not available on 1st ...

Thanks. I had browsed a bit, but only saw information about upgrades from Plus to Pro, not from regional apps to Pro. I will look more carefully. Thanks for the quick response.

I'm confused. Is that a reply to my question about upgrades, or to my report about the bug with tab changes?

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks for developing these excellent apps. iBird Northeast has exceeded all my expectations. I realize you folks are pretty bird-focused, but I hope you plan to make similar guides for other groups of animals and plants. This really does seem like a new generation of nature guides in the making. Great ...
