This attack was continuous and by the same bird to lead the hawk away from the nesting area. This sight is seen often as the ravens roust by the river and the hawks know the route as their hunting zones.

As this one reappeared out of trees, it had gained height by first flying out over the river in search of it's lost prey. Therefore it was quite a ways up when it appeared on my side of the trees. But to my surprise was soon joined by another. These 2 must have a nest in my region as I see them quite often each day.

This is the final of this series I was able to take. As they arrived safely on my side of the road they both veered hard and over the top of a tree on another extreme ledge. The raven was able to get away. As minutes later I am taking pictures of this hawk with another in flight just a few feet away in a park opening.
