It was flying through the branches over a small creek, which I'd stopped at to photograph a large water snake. I thought it was a little blue heron (which I'd seen earlier), but I took a quick picture to confirm it later. Or as it turns out, confirm that I was wrong.

A very foggy evening shooting Heron's. This one was very close to the road...just rolled down my window and snap, snap, snap.
