Large, dark-colored duck with green head, black and white feathers on its chest and crest, and a yellow beak - any idea what breed I am?

These birds made a home for the first time last year. They are back and finally got a picture with both of them in the nest. They are under our front porch in the corner. This was taken about 10 pm at night. They are pretty but just not sure what they are.

Little bird. Blue body and head. Rust or orangeish colored breast bone, white under breastbone area. I think black legs/feet. (Redbreasted Nuthatcher?)

This young bird adopted my nephew in San Luis Obispo, Ca.  It flew in his truck while he was at the coffee shop and landed on his shoulder.  It stayed with him even while he drove around and after he got home.  It landed on other people too.  Anyone know what type of bird this is?
