We saw this bird in late November on the shores of Lake Ontario near the Chimney Bluffs. There were 3 or 4 and Blue Jays were also around, at first thought it was a Robin but Bird Watcher here says no he does not know what it is. I have seen this bird feeding on seed on the ground with a group of grackles. It is identical in size and behavior. Only the white head sets it apart.

several of these beautiful birds have been crashing into my office windows--its sad to see them being hurt--this one passed away--1st what kind of bird is this and 2nd what can we do to deter these beautiful birds from hitting the windows
