Common in the Ozarks at this time of year, but field guides warn that they are more often heard than seen.
The only one I spotted in a week, and only a glimpse before he ducked into thick vegetation.

These liked to sing loudly from atop cornstalks (if nothing higher was available).

Flycatchers like this one will perch in direct midday sun.
Notice how he raises his wings slightly for ventilation on a hot summer day.

Not much of a picture, but the only one I've gotten to date.
This one was rustling about in the thick shady leaves for a long time before giving me this brief glimpse.

This was a good spot for photos because thrushes, cardinals and sparrows ventured out into the short grass and bright light to catch fat juicy beetles.
