Ozark Riverways, MO8/7/2007 Common in the Ozarks at this time of year, but field guides warn that they are more often heard than seen. The only one I spotted in a week, and only a glimpse before he ducked into thick vegetation.

Wilson's Creek Battlefied, MO8/6/2007 Flycatchers like this one will perch in direct midday sun. Notice how he raises his wings slightly for ventilation on a hot summer day.

7/29/2007Ozark Riverways NWR Not much of a picture, but the only one I've gotten to date. This one was rustling about in the thick shady leaves for a long time before giving me this brief glimpse.
