This evening a bird glided from out of nowhere..( or more specifically from a line of trees in my back yard) only a foot or so over the ground, over a distance of maybe 40 feet where it disappeared around the corner of my house. In the brief seconds that I watched it, it didnt' flap its wings at all.. it was beginning to get dark ...

Bird was attacked by a stray cat. We've been nursing this little bird back to health for 2 weeks (so far). It will eat store-bought earthworms, mealworms and wild mulberries but only when handfed. Will not pick up food from ground. Will turn its nose up at cold food. Hasn't tried to fly yet. Has a badly broken leg. Hops a lot, loses ...

My dad saw a small (bright) yellow bird near the Colwood racetrack by Victoria BC. Apparantly it was about 5 inches and almost compleatly yellow, he says the wings weren't yellow but he can't remember what colour they were. The area around there is mostly scrub and coniferous forest. He didn't see any other markings, and although his skill as a ...

Southern CA: I kept seeing a bit larger then sparrow sized bird that seemed to have a rather long tail reletive to its body size. It was dark coloured, again, not alot to go ...

I've been trying to find out what kind of bird this is, to no avail so far.
I was walking through the trails at our resort when I spotted bright blue in some of the flowering bushes. There were two of these guys. They were quite shy, and I could only get this photo from far away before they took off. They were very large birds. They were ...

I'm in the central Florida coast area and saw a bird this morning the same size, shape and color of a black bird--except that it had a beautiful scarlet red chest. No other colors anywhere and only the full chest was deep brilliant red--the rest (including head, beak, etc) was jet black. Not like the american robins we see ...

Forgive the long post but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.
Since colours are subjective it was about 3pm in the spring, fairly
bright day but was behind an apartment building so seemed more
overcast. the bird was seen on a grey concrete porch with black wrought
iron balustrade. There were two of them but they seemed identical so ...

I saw what looked like a a yelowish bird on a walk yesterday. It had a beak and flight similar to a robin, except slightly smaller. This was in a semi urban area of Victoria BC at the end of January (09). It flew away as I walked past the tree it was in so I didn't get a very good look at it. Was it a yellow warbler?
