Hi there.  I have a kind of bird near my house (out in the country, near ponds and swamps, next to a forest, about 20 miles inland from the beach) that I hear but never can see.  I think they might be mating right now (Oct.), as they seem to be calling to each other quite often throughout the day.  I can't tell if they are ...

I took a picture a few weeks ago and am stumped. At first I thought it was female house sparrow but it lacked the eye line, Then I thought it was a juvenile House Finch. Now I am wondering if it a female or juvenile Browned Headed Cowbird? Any imput would be greatly appreciated.  

Here's that same Mystery bird from the great swamp at a different angle. Hopefully, with knowledge from my nature photography book and a tripod, I'll be able to get clearer shots next time. ^_^
