Male Downy Woodpecker

I saw this really yellow bird that looks like a large wood pecker and  can't figure out what it is. It had yellow on it's  stomach and tail It also had a lot of black. I live in CT. any one know what it is?

Thanks for the help, folks, but I believe the beak was lot longer and more hooked and the hole that was made in the windowsill is quite deep.
