Central NJ, This bird has been coming to my back yard since mid April,
it's about 11 inches long, (larger than a CatBird) it has long brown legs, a head like a
Savannah Sparrow and chest markings like a Starling. I can't figure
out if it's a thrush or a hybrid mix? Would appreciate help.

I need a little help with this sparrow. I am pretty sure it is a juvenile white-crowned sparrow. It was photographed yesterday in Louisiana. I know they show regional variation as well. I went out to try the new Canon 400mm lens. I am pretty excited about it. Thanks for the help.

This bird came to my feeder this morning in New Bern, NC (coastal plain). It is about 6-6 1/2'' long, very marked black and white stripes covering the entire front body, white eye stripe, black eye, rust blotch on neck, black beak.
