  • Carolina Wren

    This Carolina wren has just emerged from the nest for the very first time. What you are missing is the parent calling to it, just outside the frame of this picture. They really do call for at least three days non-stop, to encourgae the chicks to fly. And, as you can see, it is going to be tough, without a 'rudder'.

     Just a sidenote- GOOD news ( I think)  Mommy or Daddy bird has returned a few times since posting my question an hour or so ago!   I would like to know if anyone thinks it would be a good idea to move the basket to a nearby location, keeping it looking the same, so that nothing can get to it, except mommy and/or ...
