It is true that they don't feed well at hanging feeders. They will, however, wait until other birds spill the seeds and then gather around under the feeder to eat the spilled seeds. Was in the woods out back and saw a bird I don't consciously remember seeing before. I've looked at all the web sites I could and went through the bird identifyer thing here and have not found it. I'm not a bird watcher, so bear with my amateur terminology.
As I said, Oregon, Willamette valley, Hills 17 miles West of Salem.
Looks like a dove in ...
