cwj2323:Today one met an untimely demise. I read they can be carriers of the West Nile Virus, but due to the location of the bird, more than likely it tried flying through the window. This one had the brightest red that I have seen, thus far, but something was not right about taking a picture. It was a beautiful bird. We are new at ...

I know that they are here; there were lots the first year I put out feeders, I have not had many since; I hear them, though, so know that they are around. I use a millet-based mix (with corn, a smaller variety of millet, wheat groats and black oil sunflower) in a large hopper feeder. I also have a tube with canary mix and a tray with mostly ...

Any advice on how to deal with this?
Thanks!

We have a bird feeder outside our RV where we spend the summer. We enjoy feeding the birds and also have a rabbit, a deer, and a pheasant eating the seed.
Mostly sparrows and cowbirds, but some nuthatches, thrushes and many other species.
However, we will be closing up the RV in early October and do not want the birds to suddenly have no ...

I made this bird feeder pole to show how to maximize the space you have available. It works as an all in one feeding station.

As a newbie (sorta') on this site, I would say it would depend on how the 'experts' are planning on answering the questions posed to them.
For some reason, it seems like that if you ask a question in here, or in other places that concerns birds AND cats, you will get hateful answers...or no answers at all. As if its a taboo subject or ...
