John,  That's the first time I've heard of using brown sugar in a suet mix. But I'm not experienced at suet making and I am definitly not a cook! But your recipe sounds good enough for me to eat!  What do you do with the coconut in the shell? Do the birds eat that, too?   Thanks for sharing. Susan
