Bird was attacked by a stray cat. We've been nursing this little bird back to health for 2 weeks (so far). It will eat store-bought earthworms, mealworms and wild mulberries but only when handfed. Will not pick up food from ground. Will turn its nose up at cold food. Hasn't tried to fly yet. Has a badly broken leg. Hops a lot, loses ...

Central NJ, This bird has been coming to my back yard since mid April,
it's about 11 inches long, (larger than a CatBird) it has long brown legs, a head like a
Savannah Sparrow and chest markings like a Starling. I can't figure
out if it's a thrush or a hybrid mix? Would appreciate help.

Hi everyone. I just joined WhatBird a few minutes ago in the hopes that someone would identify this bird that I've been hearing all summer. It stays in the trees out of sight and sings morning and late afternoon. I hope I'm not abusing the website by trying to put a wave file where a picture belongs, so just in case, here is the URL ...
