    Gray Jay in Cambridge MA?

Hi - This is about the eastern part of Cambridge Massachusetts. Two days ago, I am 99% certain that I saw a gray jay here. The look, flight, call, all matched -- but I'm outside the range. I've traveled extensively in Canada and I've seen countless gray jays. In the past week, we've also seen here: Red Tail Hawk (newly confirmed by others), bald eagle on the Mystic River in Medford (also confirmed), dark-eyed junco and a white-breasted nuthatch (common in the western part of the city, 2 miles from here, but NEVER here). Sorry I don't have a photo. Location approx 100 yards north of this point: N42.368417, W71.099790 Any thoughts as to why? And is it possible that I saw a gray jay? Thanks!
  4. Hi - this was taken on 8-Jan 2018, late afternoon. This raptor seemed to be eating crabs from tidal pools. Apologies for the poor photo quality - it was a cellphone photo. Location: Agujitas, Costa Rica, within 10 yards of this point: N8.690713, W83.670589. The size was a tad smaller than a red tail hawk. Thanks for your help IDing him! 5. Thank you!!!! Can you tell me which guide you're using?
  6. Yellow crowned (my best guess)? Spot crowned? Thick billed? I have two more photos, but this one has the best view of the crown. Neither of my Costa Rica books (von Perlo and Ridgely/Gwynne) seems to show enough of a difference for me to tell, but the habitat points to the yellow-crowned.
  7. These are the last 4 of those I took Agujitas (Corcovado) Costa Rica on 6-7 Jan-2018. All were taken at Gringo Curt's N8.689669, W83.663870 at approx 2-3pm. Thanks VERY much in advance for your help identifying them! 1: Higher rez: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y8ot8h9DzkxHWowJ3 2: Higher rez: https://photos.app.goo.gl/npR2lbFzmhGZ65V73 3: Higher rez: https://photos.app.goo.gl/y7MqSTDQTMWi6dcx1 4: Higher rez: https://photos.app.goo.gl/q1OqafTamVKftHa03
  8. Hi - These four were taken in Costa Rica on 6-Jan-2018, Agujitas (Corcovado) at Gringo Curt's N8.689669, W83.663870 at approx 2-3pm. We saw over 20 different species here! Thanks in advance for your help identifying them! I seem to be brushing up against my photo limit. I've listed a link to a higher rez version of each. I hope that's ok. 1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/7Bjua4f1Xl7v8fnp2 2 3 https://photos.app.goo.gl/sx8QWmb6ToVuTL1G3 4 https://photos.app.goo.gl/zBfbxjqWdhzfo8ML2
  9. My apologies. These two were both within 1km of N8.80779, W83.55947 on the banks of the Rio Sierpe, Costa Rica.
  10. Thank you both VERY much! Tomorrow, I'll tackle my tanager photos.
  11. Thanks Sean! I really appreciate it.
  12. Uh oh... This is my photo of what I thought was a "little blue heron." Am I wrong?
  13. I meant "THESE are." Ugh.
