  3. Kinglet confirmatioon please

    I happened to see two Golden-crowned Kinglets together yesterday, they were either agitated or excited, their crowns were all puffed up. One of them had a yellow/gold crown and the other a flaming orange crown. I had never seen that before, but seeing them together really highlighted the orange crown.

  5. Sparrow?

    Thanks, I was right with my first thought, funny how that works. I really wanted it to be a Lincoln's, but I have to admit I've fallen into that mindset where you try too hard to "see" what you want to see. One of the reason's I was a little confused is I saw this bird a minute before the other and I'm pretty sure this is a Swamp Sparrow.
  6. Sparrow?

    The season of the sparrow is definitely here in North Carolina. These photos were taken this morning in Chapel Hill. I initially got excited because I thought the bird was a Lincoln's Sparrow, but now I'm leaning more Swamp. I'll love some other opinions...

  10. Juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk?
