  1. I flew into San Diego, spent a day there, then drove to Phoenix, through Tucson to Patagonia, then went to Portal and looped around and flew out of Tucson. Trip lasted 7 days!
  2. Something can be both a county lifer and a provincial lifer at the same time.
  3. Nothing much. Picked up 103 ABA lifers in Arizona in March, and got a couple wicked patch birds at Tommy Thompson Park in Toronto - the best being a Willow Ptarmigan on May 13. Piping Plover was another nice addition. Puts my park list at 231. Also found two Laughing Gulls in the span of three days - a rarity and county lifer for me. Exams are finally over and it's time to enjoy summer!
  4. Anyone remember me? It's been a while.

  12. The Buff-breasted Sandpiper ate a fly off a birder's shoe today. I kid you not. Yesterday I got a full-frame shot of the bird at 55mm. While I sat on the end of a log, I put my hand out and was within six inches of the bird. This is beyond insane. I had to back up like 6 feet to get this shot: Buff-breasted Sandpiper by Owen Strickland, on Flickr Most epic selfie ever: http://ebird.org/ebird/profile/NDE4Nzgw/CA-ON
  13. Well, guess I'm hopping on the Buff-breasted Sandpiper bandwagon. What a spectacular bird, a lifer, and a patch bird to boot! ABA #379 - Buff-breasted Sandpiper by Owen Strickland, on Flickr
