  1. This is a definate Sharpie right?

I certainly don’t know any better then the responders before me, but when you’re trying to convince others the more opinions you have the better. I agree with Sharp-shinned
  2. Large Hawk-like Bird-Pennsylvania

I agree, without a photo it’s impossible to say for sure. Could be a Goshawk. Could be a Cooper’s. They are quite hard to tell apart. (well at least for us normal people)
  3. Can this duck be ID'd from this bad photo?

    Yeah, Gadwall
  4. Help identify this eight-note bird call/song

Hmm... try Northern Cardinal. They sound really powerful and I’ve heard them sing a song similar to the one you’re describing. (It’s worth noting that Cardinals are really variable in their songs) it might be worth trying to get a recording if you hear it again.
  5. Bufflehead and California Gull?

Yes, Bufflehead and the Gull looks fine for California.
  6. Sandpiper help

    Agreed
  7. Whatbird's Young Birders!

I just had 5 of my photos explored!! I'm both pleased and confused haha.
  8. Confirmation Needed

    Agreed! Congrats!
  9. Whatbird's Young Birders!

I finally was able to get some good birding in yesterday, senior year has kinda been dumping on me so my outings have been few and far between. But yesterday I spent a great afternoon in the Snoqualmie Valley. Highlights include my FOS Varied Thrush, a ton of Cackling Geese and Trumpeter Swans which are always enjoyable to see, a pretty male Eurasian Wigeon, a gorgeous "gray ghost" and the best of all, 2 Short-eared Owls, one of which flew not 10 ft from me and my younger sister!!!!!! 10. Confirmations on Some South Padre Island Birds

    Congrats on those lifers!
  11. Bald Eagle at Los Angeles?

I agree that this is not an Eagle, the wings done have that “plank” shape I look for. I wouldn’t be able to tell you what it actually is beyond some sort of buteo, but I’d believe Psweet.
  12. ID Help Please

    Looks like a Harris’s Sparrow.
  13. Ducks

    Agreed.
  14. Please confirm Spotted Sandpiper

    Seconded!
  15. Sandpiper Help

I see two Thin ended downcurved beaks, these both look like Least Sandpipers.
