  1. Is this a Louisiana Waterthrush? It (or a Northern) would be a lifer. SW Missouri today, along a small stream in the forest. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6r6z4x70qnlbc4/IMG_1252.JPG?dl=0
  2. Louisiana Waterthrush?

Yeah, I know. But as I understand it, you can't delete a post--which I would like to do.

  4. dead bird ID

I found this bird last week, hanging precariously from stiff prairie grass and a small bramble in SW Missouri. It is in such an odd posture, that I can't figure out what it is--but the tail and bill will probably make ID easy for someone in the know. It will probably be something simple that I should have recognized. Could a Shrike have done this? Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h7lxekzsfh6ifnh/AADfIlGEwcUh627I1TAavuMja?dl=0
  5. 3 summer birds

Here are three birds in May from SW Missouri. ID? One is fuzzy and will be difficult. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7pq1jhknz793zqr/AAAAlyIV712u1349LVsRVCe4a?dl=0
  6. two different birds

These two birds are from June in SW Missouri. One looks like a Pewee/Flycatcher but I don't have a guess for the other, which is at a bad angle. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8rt00cjhn16656d/AAAhuq_EjJ7eavaT9iAmosMfa?dl=0
  7. VIREO?

Is this some flavor of vireo? Seen in June of 2017 in SW Missouri--at a beaver pond on the prairie. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/s/3brwjo87xetxbax/IMG_1327.JPG?dl=0
  8. Western Kingbird?

Could this be a Western Kingbird? I have never seen one this far east--but the head and bill, yellow underparts, and white-edged tail seem to say it is. Seen July 2017 in SW Missouri. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5ibe8mi2531h5yg/AAATC1DEghqKn3slWdODcGZka?dl=0
  9. confirm Sedge Wren

Please confirm Sedge Wren--December 2017 on the prairie in SW Missouri. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b7pthr1idiwy1go/AAAdT_Q5h9_dAKfk1IQReXDMa?dl=0
  10. Sparrow? with spotted tail

Thanks, I had forgotten that they had such splendid tails.
  11. I took this picture just before Christmas in SW Missouri. I had been photographing sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warblers around a lake. I don't remember taking this picture--which I mostly missed. The tail is striking and I hope someone can ID it. Thanks. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jv74i8xxf0b01q9/IMG_1007.JPG?dl=0
  12. western birds

These birds are from a summer trip through the upper West. Please help with ID. Thanks. I don't know what this bird is--from high-altitude Wyoming in late July. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b3pjsd1oz02a31r/AABLITYRhy4cuclv3uJQh43da?dl=0 These below are from a rest stop in western Nebraska in late July. I think this is an Eastern Wood Pewee, but it is in an overlap area with Western--assuming that it IS a Pewee. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9hyelzc1maoni6y/IMG_0971.JPG?dl=0 Is this a Yellow Warbler? Is that head posture diagnostic? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qvc5jdjnz2y299d/AABedLmQs9VhnGcVQNVrOFr6a?dl=0
  13. western birds

I found another pic that shows white tail feathers--so it does seem to be a Junco. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nixj93wq0ob1avu/POSSIBLE YOUNG DARK EYED JUNCO BIRD QM 7-29-2017 9-28-33 AM.JPG?dl=0
  14. Merlin?

Is this a Merlin? I saw it last year at Christmas on a prairie in SW Missouri. It was at sunrise, which affects the color fidelity. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/s/7pj6b2tq5mn3hhp/IMG_1027.JPG?dl=0
  15. FALL SPARROWS

I encountered my first big sparrow flock of the fall. It was mixed but most seemed to me to be Savannahs. I have trouble separating Savannah and Song, when the Savannah lacks obvious yellow on the eye brow. This was late October in SW Missouri on the prairie. I have broken my ID of about 20 birds into four groups for easier access. I think all of these are Savannahs. I would appreciate feedback if any are not Savannahs. Thanks Group 1 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jyyh0xkiq1vyq6x/AABT6oW_recj7IslKUi4fBlwa?dl=0 Group 2 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lucj5478hzvuxj3/AACWTLRUiM7THeh4CBSXC3Cpa?dl=0 Group 3 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/as1nnrc2ae9hurd/AACsK3BJ43WE5kM_PYZUqAWZa?dl=0 Group 4 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5irjvkppso36qfy/AADO0DfL8yTBdl8dEKOWtF1Ga?dl=0
  16. More Fall Sparrows

Here are some more fall sparrows that I need help with. This was late October on a prairie in SW Missouri. Thanks. I have split them for easier viewing. Group 1 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8tr0nt12e0kshxd/AACHyRuq9ZmcWAXbGEei2BHZa?dl=0 Group 2 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s42dhkizec34lxy/AADAnCoc8tGVxaLzllomhx4ba?dl=0 Group 3 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vwzot7wfrbn2sgr/AABoK3MHTc7BH2NYfTayBx4Aa?dl=0 I had duped group 3. Now fixed. belliott
  17. Young Tufted Titmouse?

Thanks, that was my first impression in the field, but I talked myself out of it due to the light color in the pix and the time of year.
  18. I don't know what this is. Could it be a young Tufted Titmouse with its crest down? A few days ago in SW Missouri. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jtw9fwjzg5ydju5/AADQ63lCWQMkmf69CHqxCKLTa?dl=0
  19. Sharpie ?

Ever notice how often a leaf or a twig obscures important parts of a bird picture? Are these pencil legs enough to confirm that this is a juvenile Sharpie? It seemed smaller than a Coopers as it flew. This was a few days ago in SW Missouri. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/s/j1vft588baam0z2/IMG_1568.JPG?dl=0
  20. Is this an Orange-crowned Warbler? NW New Mexico today, near a small desert lake. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j68iuemc3qgz78b/AABrIQ2eL__56HPXsODr6y2fa?dl=0
  21. Is this a MacGillivray's Warbler? Today, in the Russian Olives along an irrigation ditch in NW New Mexico. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7te1i2cbzcamh6f/AACeRfUAjza4yRH0xMwm45--a?dl=0
  22. Sparrow ?

I don't have a guess on this one. Near a desert pond in NW New Mexico a week ago. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xt1e68r0a0ayilj/AAAGFZavbspF42yDu3SEPbMba?dl=0
  23. Cassin's Vireo ?

Is this a Cassin's Vireo. I found it today in NW New Mexico, in the cottonwoods along an irrigation ditch. It had caught a moth. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/sh/f8lj1ckia9bh2hr/AADMFZSzgSX4bOOSTewmxRmBa?dl=0
  24. shore bird
