  2. Lincoln's Sparrow?

Thank you both, that is a new one for the list for me!
  3. Lincoln's Sparrow?

I keep trying to force different names on to Song Sparrows, so please tell me if I'm wrong again, but this bird seems to have the finer streaking, buffy eye-ring and peaked crown of a possible Lincoln's. Taken on 9/13/16 in Duluth, MN lincoln sparrow by Fred Durkin, on Flickr Thoughts?

  7. Not Much to Go On

Like I said, wishful thinking on my part, but I don't think it was a snow bunting (I saw over a hundred of them yesterday), these birds defiantly had a good deal of red. I'm kicking myself for forgetting my binoculars today! Maybe I can catch them tomorrow. Thanks for looking!
  8. Not Much to Go On

I saw two birds flying around the approach to an air strip that where definitely new to me this afternoon in Duluth, MN. They were larger than the American tree sparrows I was taking pictures of, quite nimble in flight, and gave the overall impression of Red (at least one of them.) Horrible picture, but here is what I have: I was thinking possibly White-winged Crossbill, but that just a wishful guess based on them being reported in the area and the flight call being different from anything I'd heard before (I don't remember how it went).
  9. Le Conte's Sparrow?

Thanks! This is a lifer for me and an unexpected treat on my lunch time walk.
  10. Le Conte's Sparrow?

Saw this tiny, chunky sparrow with a very short tail in Duluth, MN just now. Not a ton of Yellow, but thought it might be an immature?
  11. Northern Goshawk?

    Thank you all!
  12. Northern Goshawk?

This was taken at Hawk's Ridge in Duluth, MN this afternoon. Just want to make sure, as it would be a long sought after lifer for me.
