I saw this bird today at Ebenezer Swamp, Shelby Alabama. The birds tail was flicking up and down. I though Eastern Phoebe but it seemed too small. What other birds flick their tail up and down? It was overcast and dark so this is all I got. Thanks in advance!
  6. I went looking for a recently reported Harris Hawk (no luck). This small hawk gave me a good look, seems to have a beginning belly band, but it was very small and the banding on the tail has me a little confused. Thanks.

  12. ?Ibis vs Wood Stork

22 Jul 2017 Hale co., AL; commercial catfish ponds Hi, All-- I was on a road trip today and drove through an area with several commercial catfish operations. Around the edge of one of the ponds were 6-8 large birds that looked, from a distance, like ibises, but they had dark heads--not like any ibis I have seen in Alabama before--and more black on their wings--not just at the tip. Their bodies were white with pinkish-flecking. Of course, I did not have my camera with me. I did manage to get a shot with my phone, but only after they took flight. The first click of the shutter spooked them.
