  1. https://imgur.com/a/oHwlA This guy. I couldn't figure out the picture, so I just included a link to a photo of the bird. I saw this little birdie at Parrot Mountain in Pigeon Forge , TN. (A very beautiful place, highly recommend a visit). Ever since then, I have been in love, but never knew what this bird was. It has a resemblance to a Maximilian Pionus, but I'm not sure. Thanks for any help!
  2. What type of gull

I must admit I am the worst at identifying gull species. What type of gull is this? It was taken in southern California. I'm thinking first year California Gull. 0B0A9840-Edit by Terry Dickerson, on Flickr
  3. Greetings guys. My friends and I were arguing about this one bird, and none of us could figure out what is it. It looks like a pheasant but it's not. Also it's pretty big sized, surprisingly. Does any of you know what it might be (the brownish one)?
  4. What sparrow

What type of sparrow is this? This was taken in southern California. My guesses were Song, Lincolns, or Savannah.
  5. Hairy or Downey

  6. While on a walk I found this bird laying in the grass. She was hurt bad and passed away a few hours later. I can't find anything like her on any of the bird pages. Anyone know what kind she was??
  7. Hi, I was wondering, why some birds respond to their own call and some birds careless? For example if I play White Crowned Sparrow call they quickly gather around with curiosity while it does not work for Black Capped Chickadee for example. Does this have to do with being territorial or something? Thank you.
  8. Hello, I have spotted two birds at the and of August in at Bownman Bay Whidbey Island, Washington State. Some sort of Warbler and some sort of Sparrow. My initial thoughts were Yellow Warbler and White Crown Sparrow, but after looking closer at my shots I started to doubt. Please help me identify these beauties Here are the cropped pics: Thank you

  13. I know some of the photos aren't the best quality so I added a few. She (assuming it's a girl) has been coming to my bird feeder the past couple days. She almost always is with the smaller bird. Just curious to the type of bird, I tried using the identifier but had no luck. The smaller bird will feed her as well. I've named her Fatbird, the smaller one has no name yet. But she we sit and have him bring her food. My bird feeder will move and shut when something is too heavy (to keep squirrels/ chipmunks away), but I can't imagine that she would be too heavy for it. It's just very strange that he feeds her. She is all brown and has no white on her. She is also very brave, I've gotten about a foot away before she flew away. Also, this photo was taken in northern Michigan (the lower peninsula).
  14. Date of Photo: July 16, 2017 @ 5:06 PM Location: Greenlawn, Suffolk County, NY 11740 Bird taking tree nut from feeder. I am unsure if this is a Black-capped, Carolina or a hybrid Chickadee. The bib noticeably extends to the top of the chest and down to the nape of the neck. There were five Black-capped chickadees present, but the photographed bird instantly stood out. Any help would be appreciated. https://www.flickr.com/gp/9772325@N04/0Hg7UQ https://www.flickr.com/gp/9772325@N04/70U090

  23. I have been hearing this bird for a while now, outside my house, most active every morning since the beginning of spring. It sounds like a very clear LOUD human whistle. It will make a low pitch singular whistle and a high pitch by themselves and it will also do a three note whistle which it repeats twice occasionally. Its driving me crazy trying to figure out what it can be! I live in Northern NJ. Thanks! (sorry there are like 5 other birds chirping in this recording. Best I could get! I recommend using headphones because the recording is soft ) New Recording 5.m4a.m4a
