  1. Southeast Michigan, 11/10/17 Was going through some old photos... This duck (circled) was hanging out with a bunch of Green-winged Teal, some Mallards and a few Northern Shovelers (lifer, not shown). They were on the far side of the marsh, which is why the photo (cropped) is so bad. Plain head and dark bill. Looks about the same size as the female Mallard in front. Thoughts?
  2. 11/6/17 Southeast Michigan
  3. Duck and Gulls

Yesterday in Detroit: 1. Greater Scaup (lifer)? 2. Flying gull: Bonaparte's (lifer)? 3. Large gull behind Ring-billed: Herring?
  4. All within the past couple days in Southeast Michigan: 1. This goose was about the size of the Canada Geese. I assume it is a hybrid between a Canada Goose and something. What is it? 2. Fairly confident in these. Let me know if I'm wrong or missed anything. Canvasbacks, Redheads, Buffleheads on the right, and Hooded Mergansers in the back: 3. These were the best shots I could get.
  5. 8/24/17 near Crosswinds Marsh, Michigan 3 Pectoral Sandpipers in front, a Killdeer in the middle back, but what it the sandpiper I'm pointing to:
  6. Swamp Sparrow, right?

    Yesterday, near Dearborn, MI
  7. What Sparrow?

About a week ago (when it was warm) in Southeast Michigan.
  8. Hairy Woodpecker?

    10/16/17 Dearborn, MI
  9. What duck?

What is this small duck with the Mallards? Same individual middle of first photo and left in second. Dearborn, MI. 10/16/17
  10. Cooper's Hawk?

    10/2/17 in Southeast Michigan
  11. Northern Bobwhite

Don't know what else it could be. This afternoon, 10/22, in Dearborn Heights, MI. This is a life bird and definitely my new favorite yard bird. I had a young Eastern Screech Owl a few months ago in my tiny, suburban back yard. One nice thing about the tiny yard back yard is I can get some photos from inside with my point and shoot (superzoom). Please confirm for my own peace of mind.
  12. Poor Warbler photos

9/28/17, through a grimy office window in Dearborn, MI
  13. What Warbler(s)?

Yesterday in Dearborn, MI. In tall grass and weeds and some type of berry thickets adjacent to mowed grass near deciduous woods. Not sure if these photos are good enough for ID. Could they be the same species?
  14. Warblers and Vireo

These are from yesterday, 10/9/17, Dearborn, MI: 1. Northern Parula (lifer)? 2. Black-throated Green Warbler (lifer)? Only other thing I can think of is Blackburnian (lifer). 3. Black-throated Blue? 4. Blue-headed Vireo? 5. Same as Bird #2? 6. Another Black-throated Blue Warbler? Female? Juvenile?
  15. Red-shouldered Hawk?

NOT MY PHOTO. Taken yesterday in Dearborn, MI
  16. Purple Martin, correct?

Not a lifer, but first time seeing in Michigan. 8/12/17, Southeast Michigan
  17. Today, 8/24, Southeast Michigan. 1. Yellowlegs 2. Yellowlegs 3. Can this be ID'd? 4. With the Killdeer, Pectoral? 5. Another Pectoral? 6. Killdeer, Pectoral Sandpiper in front? What's in the back?
  18. Yesterday, 8/22, Dearborn, MI 1. Please confirm (lifer!) Blue-winged Warbler 2. I'm fairly confident with my ID in the field. There were 2-3 of these flitting about ~20 feet up. Not a lifer (but a photo lifer), but I want to see if anyone guesses what I thought with these were. (I think there might be some diagnostic marks even from this blurry photo. This is the only photo I was able to get.)
  19. What Flycatcher?

8/11/17, Dearborn, MI...have pictures of a young one and the last photo I believe is an adult, same species. Let me know if you want me to brighten that last photo.
  20. ...on the left? 7/29/17, Southeast Michigan
  21. I know some of the photos aren't the best quality so I added a few. She (assuming it's a girl) has been coming to my bird feeder the past couple days. She almost always is with the smaller bird. Just curious to the type of bird, I tried using the identifier but had no luck. The smaller bird will feed her as well. I've named her Fatbird, the smaller one has no name yet. But she we sit and have him bring her food. My bird feeder will move and shut when something is too heavy (to keep squirrels/ chipmunks away), but I can't imagine that she would be too heavy for it. It's just very strange that he feeds her. She is all brown and has no white on her. She is also very brave, I've gotten about a foot away before she flew away. Also, this photo was taken in northern Michigan (the lower peninsula).
  22. Regular Rock Pigeon?

Not my photo. Today in Dearborn, MI. This is a normal Brown Rock Pigeon, correct? But really my questions are: (1) what percentage of Rock Pigeons would be this color? (2) have there always been Rock Pigeons this color? (3) were at some point they bred to bring out this color, making it more common now in feral pigeons? tagging @Pigeon
  23. What Flycatcher?

    7/20/17, Dearborn, MI
