Most pathetic bird that you're missing on your life list

Recommended Posts

For BC (and life), I still need Black-footed Albatross, Canyon Wren, Flammulated Owl, and most NE BC species (eastern stuff).

For the ABA, I still need all the SE pine forest species such as Pine Warbler, Brown-headed Nuthatch, etc.

At the moment the most annoying birds not on my yearlist are Great Grey Owls and Spruce Grouse. Seems to be not too common, but for Great Grey Owls people see them fairly frequently where I've been looking but I haven't found any. For Spruce Grouse, my mom saw one without me (HOW DARE YOU MOM), and so I've been looking in the exact same area for the past 8 months or so. No luck.

For South Carolina,

Fish Crow - 12.9%; I can live with that.

Chimney Swift - 8.8%; I can live with that too.

Everything else is below 7.5%  Purple Finch is down at 1.5%, but that's still the personal thorn in my side.

Yeah, but I have a pair of binos.  :P back at you.

EDIT: Oh, wait; I do have a Chimney Swift.  Pittsburgh, PA, Southside riverfront, July '16.  I just haven't entered it into eBird yet.  I'm entering my records by location, and I'm only up to 'Congaree National Park'.

I still need Purple Finch because I always think a finch is a House Finch. My highest ebird needs percent is apparently 19.75% for Red-bellied Woodpecker only I live on the west coast so
