I shall start off, my best life bird is either the Least Bittern, or Limpkin. What was yours?

Blue-footed Booby, several different Galapagos Finches and Galapagos Penguins

 

EDIT:  If referring to US birds it would be Whimbrels seen on Lake Erie last September

For me maybe Florida Scrub-Jay, Limpkin, or Whooping Crane.  Other good ones seen in FL are Groove-billed Ani, Vermillion Flycatcher, and Sprague's Pipit.

 

Edit: another good one is Bachman's Sparrow and Greater Prairie Chicken.

My best life birds are California specialties - Yellow-billed Magpie, California Thrasher, and Nuttall's Woodpecker.

Tricolored Heron seen at New Hogan Reservoir in Calaveras County several years ago. I wish I had been a birder back then so I would have known to report it, I'm probably the only person who saw it and knew what it was.
