Possible Black Tern

Recommended Posts

Jax Bch, yesterday a couple of hours after the hurricane.

I am even more hopeless at moving birds.  Is this just a Black Tern.  (That was my assumption before I looked at the tail and compared it to books.)  Can it be like that or is this something else?

Black Tern actually wouldn't be in their dark summer plumage plumage right now, nor would they have that white underwings and very forked tail. This is something even better, a storm-blown juvenile Sooty Tern!

Oh goody, goody, goody!   We are seeing Black Terns here now so a Sooty Tern (a lifer for me) is much better.  Once in a while is it a giraffe and not just a horse!  Thanks!
